Required Traits

 

Shifting: Minotyrs have two forms; that of a Satyr, and a Minotaur. Primarily Minotyrs utilize the Satyr form in order to cause less alarm in other races. While in Minotaur form, rage and adrenaline grows slowly at first sign of a threat but exponentially with time. If you see a Minotyr in Minotaur form who seems agitated, do NOT stick around to see if it will shift back.

Males -

  • Minotaur Form: Head and neck resemble a bull, and the body resembles that of a human. Large bull horns on top of the head.

 

  • Satyr Form: Legs and tail of a deer, torso and head of a human. Two horns on the top/side of the head, smaller than the Minotaur form.


Females -

  • Same, except that the horns on both forms are smaller than their male counter-parts.
    Females also tend to have spots in the Satyr form.

Natural Weapons

Bite (d1 DMG) cannot be done with other attacks, does d1 bleed damage for 3 turns. (M) form only. Melee (Sharp).

Horns (2d1 DMG) cannot be used with other weapons. Melee (Sharp).

Hoof (d1 DMG) can attack enemies with a kick or stomp. Can be done in (S) form. Melee (Blunt).

 

Natural Weaknesses

  • Can't use items (weapons allowed) in (M) Form.

  • Satyr Form: -5 to hit in battle.

  • Minotaur Form: -5 to defend (dodge, block) in battle.

  • Cannot wear shoes or armor below their waist (S). Cannot wear upper torso armor or head pieces (M). If they're caught shifting, they destroy what they were wearing from the force if it was form fitted (such as pants) and take d10 pressure damage when applicable. (GM Discretion.)

  • Satyr Form: 1 automatic escape or dodge per event/day.
     

  • Minotaur Form: 1 automatic hit *regular attacks only* per event/day.

Culture and History

The Minotyr came into being a strange creature. Most say that folklore of all minotaur and satyrs came from the Minotyr in their one form or the other. Each of their shifts carries with it almost an entirely different personality due to instincts that kick in. The minotaur side will be more intimidating or lack fear of things that perhaps he should fear. The satyr side is finicky and timid, often refusing to take unnecessary risks unless the reward is promising. No matter the instincts, they are the same being and will have the same memories, relationships and personality. Being an old beast race, they have lots of stories to tell and very much enjoy having a good time. Alongside their Dwarven comrades, you'll most often find alcohol nearby, beautiful females, and some merry music.
