Class Specialty Skills
Steal: The thief can attempt to steal gold or items from their target. If stealing items, it must be something from the person's 'carried equipment' and no longer than your hand. You can steal from a person, ONCE per day. Meaning you can steal from multiple people, but only one attempt per person. Just keep in mind, the rolls wont always be in your favor and if caught, you get nothing. You can only steal gold from NPCs (once a day.)
The GM will count the appropriate size items on the carried equipment page of that character and tell you what to roll (7 items would be d7) and you'll steal the item rolled if successful.
For every level of the target that's above your own, you get a -10% penalty.
A failed theft will land you in jail if you are caught. After your initial roll, success or failure, you must roll again to get away without people seeing you. If people see you, they can each choose to attack you (which you can defend in every way except counter attacks) each once, before you get one last attempt to get away. If you fail that roll, the NPC Guards will capture you and put you in jail. All thefts must be done in front of a GM. If successful, that person loses d10 per CP or whatever they have left if it doesn't meet the amount. (10% per CP)
Pick Locks: The thief is skilled at picking locks. Some locks will have difficulty penalties, but general locks can be attempted regularly with this skill, such as normal doors, windows and some chests. (10% per CP)
Disarm Traps: The thief has become skilled at seeing and disarming traps without setting them off. (10% per CP)
Slight of Hand: Can do tricks with their hands where they make things appear, disappear, or change to similarly small sized items in hand. (10% per CP)
Poison Object: Can discreetly apply poison to anything. Requires poison to use this skill. Condition of poison must be met to poison target. (10% per CP)
Camouflage: Hide in brush, shadows, or behind large objects to be out of sight. Cannot attack or be attacked while hiding. (10% per CP)
Thief
If you have ever felt like your gold purse was lighter, you were probably pick pocketed by a Thief. They are skilled at getting what they want by simply taking it and skirting away unnoticed. On adventures, they have skills that often benefit their party... such as picking the locks of a discovered treasure chest! This means most people will simply ignore the small crimes that Thieves commit, because it may benefit them later on. You should never trust a Thief however, because they'll probably sweet talk you before pulling a coin right from your pocket.
