Race's Language

Includes 'Common' for everyone.

Age Ratio

HY (Human Years) : AY (Actual Years)

Human Years means how old the race looks in accordance to how we view age in real life with humans.

Actual Years means how many years that race actually lives.

The ratio is a guideline for you to use to figure out how old your character would be in relation to HY.

Average Lifespan is also a guideline, mostly for NPCs but to give you an idea of how long your character would live.

Mortality is also a guideline to tell you if the race is deemed immortal or if they die naturally after so many years.

Maturity means what age your character can have sexual relations and procreate. We set this at 18 HY, and give you the guideline for what that is in AY according to your race's aging rate.

Creature Type

Beast - Animal like, limited human like features.

Humanoid - Similar to humans in anatomy or appearance.

Elemental - Somewhere between Beast and Humanoid.

These are used to determine procreation appropriate partners, as well as other things in the game.

Partners allowed will be defined on each poge. Then (if allowed) you will approach a GM if both players have agreed to pregnancy and roll once a day until successful to become pregnant. Success rates are pre-defined for each race. Example:

On a d100 roll (pregnancy):

80-100 Unsuccessful
30-79 One Child
1-29 Twins

Pregnancy

Natural Skills

Magic Resistance

Magic Resistance will be subtracted from any damage AND healing magic done on your character. If someone tries to heal you for 20, you must subtract your Resistance and will only be healed by the remaining amount. Its both a perk and a hindrance.

Immunities

This defines if you are immune to certain magic types, meaning you take no damage or suffer effects from this magic.

Natural Defenses

Any defenses your race may have naturally (scale armor for example) will be listed here.

Natural Weapons

If your race has any natural weapons, such as claws, it will be put here. You'll see that all races start at d1 or 1 turn or 1 damage. This is because you'll use your SP to increase these as you feel necessary to make them stronger.

Natural Weaknesses

Any natural weaknesses your race possesses (such as sensitivity to sunlight or certain magics) will be listed here.

Natural Abilities

These are extra abilities and strengths that your race has. Any listed with percentages can be improved. One SP point equals 10% increase. You must roll below your unlocked percentage to succeed with an ability, similar to classes. These will be adjusted and added to during the beta stage as necessary. All races are starting off with a few basic abilities. All races will have a couple more added to them in time. Feel free to make recommendations for improvements or additions.

This is the section that will help you know what the race looks like. There will be Required Traits, which are things you must adhere to for that race, and then there is an 'Average Appearance' which is simply a guide on what the average look is for that race. NPCs will most often fall into the average appearance guidelines.

Appearance

Starter Requirements

You must meet this minimum stat to play the race. If your stat later drops below this, that is fine.

Culture and History

This is a little insight into that race's world within Varlonan. Used for NPCs, as well as a guide for your own character and their interactions with others of their kind.

Coming Soon!

Most of the races will have a bonus to some of the senses. Senses will equally balance each other out (if one increases, the other one decreases) but any rolls you make involving that sense, you get to add to with your race's bonus. Senses can be rolled as needed, with GM Discretion on if its allowed or not.

Heightened Senses

Each race will have different sets of strengths and weaknesses. You'll earn 2 SP (Skill Point) each time you level, similar to Classes (CP) which you can spend strengthening your character's race. Increase percentages (10% per SP), increase turns (d1 would become d2 with an SP), increase damage (same as turns), learn additional languages (one per SP), increase one of your senses (it will decrease the balancer sense), increase armor (1 per SP) and more. If you have questions about what you can spend your SP on, always feel free to ask.
